The Velfont Anti-mite Nordic duvet is without a doubt one of the fibre duvets with the best quality/price ratio on the market. This model with a 100% conjugated recycled hollow fibre filling anti-mite Acarsan Natural®, microfibre fabric and Acarsan® anti-allergy treatment offers maximum comfort and protection. comfort, great softness and total safety against health pathogens .
INTERIOR FILLING. 100 % Acarsan Natural ® anti-mite conjugated recycled hollow fibre (anti-mite, antibacterial and antifungal). This fibre offers great elasticity, high recovery capacity, high thermal capacity and a long service life. This fibre is made up of fine polyester strands, hollow inside and silicone-coated on the outside, allowing, thanks to the micro-air channels formed inside each fibre, to prevent the accumulation of humidity inside, bad odours, it acquires a high thermal capacity and also offers us, thanks to the Acarsan Natural® treatment, excellent anti-allergy properties.
WEIGHTS. This duvet is available in weights of 400, 250, 125 and 4 seasons (250+125) gr/m2 . of filling weight. A wide range of Anti-mite models from which you can choose the one that best suits you, depending on the climate of your place of residence. You should take into account the average temperature of your room before choosing a particular weight for the duvet or buying a 4 seasons duvet and enjoying the comfort of a high quality duvet in any temperature range. A little further down we detail the recommended use for each weight.
FABRIC. 100% silk-touch microfibre with an embossed design and Smartclima HeiQ Smart Temp thermoregulatory treatment , which helps to quickly dry sweat and moisture for a rest at the optimal temperature , also made with horizontal ribbing, exterior trim around the entire perimeter and a silky feel, which provides breathability and softness when in contact with the skin.
BREATHABILITY. Thanks to its hollow channel fibres, this duvet maintains a high and constant volume, as these hollow fibres are able to constantly separate from each other and not clump together, thus providing a space between them through which air can circulate without dragging the heat trapped in the hollow channel of each filament.
THERMAL LEVEL 1,2,3 and 4 (Scale from 1 to 4). The Velfont Anti-mite Nordic duvet has thermal level 1 for its 125 gr version, Level 2 for the 250 gr model, Level 4 for the 400 gr version, as well as level 4 for the DUO 250 + 125 gr/m2 version. Thermal Level 1, ideal for rooms between 20 ºC and 24 ºC, Thermal Level 2, ideal for rooms between 18 ºC and 22 ºC and Thermal Level 4, ideal for rooms between 12 ºC and 20 ºC.
SAFETY OF USE. The Anti-mite Nordic duvet is made from recycled hollow fibre Acarsan® ANTI-MITE , as well as 100% breathable fabric. Filled with fibre certified by both the prestigious British foundation Allergy UK and the Spanish Society of Allergology and Clinical Immunology (SEAIC), which confirms that the Acarsan Natural ® range from Velfont reduces the proliferation of dust mites, maintaining its effectiveness throughout the washes. This is a totally anti-allergic product, suitable even for people with allergies and/or respiratory problems.
What are mites and how do they affect our health?
WHAT ARE THEY? Mites are micro-organisms, less than half a millimetre in size, that live in dusty, warm and humid environments. Their favourite places are things that are usually not very breathable, such as cushions, duvets, stuffed animals and mattresses, all of which are areas that humans tend to rub against, as these little bugs feed on microscopic flakes of our skin.
HOW DO THEY AFFECT US? Mite particles and their fecal remains remain inside poorly breathable fabrics, as well as in the air of closed spaces. When inhaled, they can cause asthma or rhinitis, conjunctivitis, and atopic skin.

What is the weight of this duvet that is most suitable for me?
It is not easy to choose the most suitable weight for my geographical area, but here at mueblesdecasa.net we are going to offer you some suggestions using the geographical area of Spain as a reference example.
- Weight: 125 gr/m2 (only in Duo version) . This is a Nordic quilt for northern summers or spring/autumn on the southern Mediterranean coast up to Valencia, i.e. suitable when the room temperature is between 20º and 24º C, with the optimum being 22º C.
- Weight of 250 gr/m2 . Suitable for spring/autumn in the north and centre, as well as for winters in the south of the Mediterranean coast, i.e. for rooms with temperatures between 18º and 22º C, with the optimum being 20º C.
- Weight of 400 gr/m2 . This is a Nordic duvet for cold winters such as those in the north and centre of Spain, suitable for short winter periods on the eastern Mediterranean coast when the cold is more intense, but in any case, ideal for rooms with temperatures below 19º C.
- Duo (125+250 gr/m2) . This is a 4-season duvet suitable for the whole year, but be careful! It is not suitable for the whole year in Spain. On the Mediterranean coast, where summer nights are often hot, it is not necessary to use any type of duvet, no matter how light it is. Maintenance and preservation of Velfont fibre duvets
Washing, drying and preservation. The Anti-mite Nordic filling is suitable for washing in any type of domestic washing machine, as long as it is washed at a maximum temperature of 40 ºC in short cycles and with a very gentle spin, do not iron, do not bleach and can be dried at a maximum of 60 ⁰C.
How to store the duvet? Both at mueblesdecasa.net and at Velfont, we recommend using the bag or case from which they are first removed, or alternatively, buying breathable cotton bags specially prepared for the purpose.
